How it Works

Our structured process

Peace of mind, built into every decision.

1. We organise your first site visit

We coordinate a vetted builder to assess your property and establish a clear, realistic project scope.

2. We collect 3-4 competitive quotes

We source comparable quotes from multiple vetted builders to ensure competitive and aligned pricing.

3. We standardise and compare them

We convert each quote into a clear side-by-side format so differences in cost, scope, and inclusions are obvious.

4. Scenario Comparison

We pressure-test your options We simulate pricing scenarios across builders so you understand the real cost implications of different specifications and finishes.

5. You choose with confidence

You move forward knowing you’ve properly tested the market and selected the right builder.

Why talk to us?

We don’t build pools — we sit on your side of the table. Poolpal evaluates your site, gathers builder quotes on your behalf, and lays everything out clearly so you can compare options properly before making a six-figure decision.

No Cost to Homeowners

Poolpal works with a number of verified builders who value:

  • Better-informed clients

  • Higher-quality projects

  • Fewer wasted site visits

Poolpal is funded by a fixed introduction fee paid by builders once a project proceeds.

All builders pay the same fee — there is no bidding, no pay-to-rank, and no influence on our comparison process.

Our role is to structure, compare, and streamline your builder selection — at no direct cost to you.

Our Approach

Our Approach

Poolpal was built to bring structure to one of the largest discretionary investments most homeowners make.

We saw how inconsistent pool quotes can be — varying scopes, unclear allowances, and pricing that’s difficult to compare properly. So we built a process that standardises quotes, introduces competitive tension, and lays everything out clearly before you commit.

We don’t build pools.
We structure builder selection.

Every project is approached with the same objective:
see the market properly, understand the differences, and move forward with confidence.

How does Poolpal work?

We organise your site visit, collect competitive quotes, standardise them into a clear comparison, and help you select the right builder before you commit.

Do you charge homeowners any fees?

No. Poolpal is funded by a fixed introduction fee paid by builders once a project proceeds. All builders pay the same fee, and there is no bidding or pay-to-rank system.

Why wouldn’t I just go direct to a builder?

Most homeowners speak to one builder and proceed based on a single scope and price structure. We ensure you see the market properly before committing, without managing multiple conversations yourself.

Are Poolpal builders vetted?

Yes. We only work with experienced pool builders who meet our standards for quality, compliance, and track record. Just as importantly, we assess suitability for your specific project — not every builder is right for every job.

When should I engage Poolpal?

Ideally before signing with a builder or immediately after receiving your first quote, so we can structure competitive comparisons properly.

What if I already have a pool design from a builder?

We use your current design as the baseline, collect competitive quotes against it, and ensure you’re choosing the right builder before signing.

What happens after I choose a builder?

Once selected, you contract directly with the builder. Poolpal does not take part in construction or payments.

Is Poolpal available outside Auckland?

Currently, Poolpal operates exclusively in Auckland. We plan to expand into other regions of New Zealand as the service grows.
